Stars on 9 Dance Center – Faculty & Staff

Cathy Layden

As Miss Janet’s sister, Cathy has literally “grown-up” at the dance studios and has been her “Right hand & Right foot” in many of the adventures along their road to success. She has won several regional and national dance competitions in both Ballet and Tap. A National Tap Dance Champion, she was examined and accepted as a Member of Dance Masters of America in Tap.

She teaches: Pre-School Dance, Ballet, Tap, Broadway Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical and Stretch Jazz/Ballet classes.

She has taught at:

• – Allegro Dance Academy

• – Delaware Technical Community College’s Adult Education programs & Children’s Summer Camps

• – Children’s Dance, Drama & Musical Theatre Camps

– The Independence Community Center

Barbara Rynkowski

Barbara has danced competitively since 2008, and a champion in her field of expertise. She recently competed in NYC at the Empire State Championships and placed in Smooth (Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot & V. Waltz) and the Latin (Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Double & Jive).

In addition, she has her Bachelors in Education from the University of Delaware and Masters in Counseling from Wilmington University, and a past Faculty member of the Indian River School District.

Presently she is a featured Ballroom Teacher at Del Tech Adult Education Program.
